is synonymous with the rotary engine. The company and its innovative
product have been inseparably linked since the release of the first
rotary powered 'Cosmo Sports' coupe in 1967. With the world spotlight
forever shining on the progress of the rotary engine-and soon the
introduction of the new Mazda RX-8's in 2003--Mazda will continue
to be recognized world-wide for their technical achievements and driving
success with rotary technology.

While
Goodyear goes racing for a number of reasons, two of the most obvious
reasons are to advance tire technology and provide exposure for the
company through marketing and advertising opportunities. Tire technology
proven at the track is readily transferred to improving consumer tire
performance. Marketing opportunities capitalize on continually increasing
audience sizes, both at the track and watching the race on television,
and link Goodyear tires to racing, high performance and technology.
Racing
helps us develop new technology primarily in three areas of tire
design: mold shapes, tire construction and tire materials. Much
of that information applies directly to our high-performance Eagle
street tires because the basic construction of a race tire is similar
to a consumer auto tire. Subtle improvements we make in tire performance
on the track transfer readily to high-performance auto tires.
Consumer
tires aren't the only products that benefit from our racing technology,
however. Stock cars can exert 5,000 lbs. of weight on the right
front tire through the 31-degree banks of Daytona International
Speedway. These forces are similar to conditions that airplane and
truck tires experience. This environment allows us to evaluate tire
material durability and heat resistance and helps us learn about
oils, carbon black and other components of commercial tires. All
our tire lines and our customers benefit in one way or another from
the technology we gain from racing.
The
Goodyear name is highly visible to consumers at the racetrack. Goodyear
Racing Eagles sport yellow letters and the Goodyear name is clearly
visible on race cars, driver uniforms and at tracks worldwide. It's
almost impossible to watch a motorsports event and not see some
form of Goodyear identification. As a recognized leader in racing,
this invaluable exposure lends credibility and value to our Eagle
line.
Today, motorsports is the fastest growing spectator sport in the
United States. Goodyear will continue to be a leading race tire
supplier to the industry and consumers will continue to benefit
from the advanced technology that makes the leap from track to street. www.racegoodyear.com

Red
Line Synthetic Oil Corporation has the most complete line of automotive
lubricants available. Red Line realizes that reducing friction is
necessary in a rear differential, but that friction is actually
necessary in a transmission so that synchronization may occur. No
lubricant can do a perfect job for both. The same is true for engines.
Reducing friction is a goal of engine lubricants, but the detergents
used in most motor oils compete with the friction reducers for the
metal surface. So if you want the lowest friction, use an oil formulated
for the lowest friction. Red Line manufactures Racing Oils which
contain few detergents, so no compromise has to be made.

VRacing
has been making the best fuels for motorsports since 1975, and currently
produces more than 60 unique blends. With these blends, VP has fueled
champions in virtually every racing category and class -- from drag
racing, circle track and roadracing to off-road, off-shore and even
airplane racing.
In
race venues not controlled by a fuel rule, VP consistently fuels
more winners than any other American fuel company. VP's fuels have
a well-deserved reputation for superior power and consistency –
as illustrated by the NHRA Pro Stock Champions who have made VP
their fuel of choice for 29 consecutive years -- a record unmatched
by any major sponsor in the industry.
One
of the reasons for VP’s consistent success is our focus. We
don’t make pump gas and we don’t run a chain of convenience
stores. We make power. And we make it for racing.
Total
control over our products is another reason for our success. We
blend all our own fuels. We lead them. We dye them. We drum them,
test and store them. This painstaking care ensures every gallon
of VP fuel meets our quality standards regardless of where it’s
shipped or where it’s purchased.
While
VP Racing owns and operates an analytical laboratory fully equipped
with dyno and test engines, we spend most of our time working with
racers in their shops, on their dynos and with their vehicles at
the track. We’re actively involved in our customers’
success. This gives us a big advantage over larger oil companies
that rely on laboratory conditions for most of their product development.
VP is no less demanding in the engineering and precision of its
racing synthetic oils, two-cycle lubricants, additives, traction
adhesives and accessories with each designed for maximum power and
performance. We do all this to stay ahead of our competition so
you can stay ahead of yours.
